Ash Panels for Stairs
Ash wood panels for stairs are made from Fraxinus excelsior L., a wood species widely used in the production of stairs and structural components thanks to its balance of mechanical strength, elasticity and dimensional stability.
Ash is characterised by a coarse texture and fairly straight, regular grain, qualities that support precise machining and a uniform response to the stresses typical of stair elements. With an average density of 720 kg/m³, the material offers reliable performance in terms of both load-bearing capacity and controlled flexibility.
Its remarkable impact resistance and good flexibility make ash particularly suitable for the production of treads, risers, landings and load-bearing stair components, even in frequently used settings.
Medium shrinkage and limited internal tension help maintain panel stability over time, while medium hardness ensures a good balance between wear resistance and ease of machining, including on CNC machines. The surface is homogeneous and suitable for customised finishes, both natural and pigmented.
